Mom Love Gift Basket

With the theme of love and appreciation for the month of February and Valentine’s Day, I’ve been deeply touched by a certain someone who’s been helping me out the past month and a half. We’ve all heard the saying “It takes a village to raise our children,” and from where I am in life right now, and who I allow and attract around myself, the help and assistance from my neighbor is undoubtedly, one of the greatest appreciations I have right now.

Starting the new year, I had started a new full time job, leaving my two (yes two) part-time jobs. Landing this new job in a new industry was one of the greatest blessings, as I’ve been screaming out to the universe that I’m ready for something different and challenging. Once, I started my new job the first week January, new routines had to be set, as my husband had to travel for work, leaving us scrambling around figuring out school morning drop off’s.

Having loving neighbors within out cozy cul-de-sac, I was able to shoot out text to my neighbor asking if she could help out for a few days while my husband was out of town, and while I was at work. With no hesitation, she was totally fine with the task.

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

This past Valentine’s I just had to give my neighbor a token of my appreciation for the help he’s given me the past month. Other than, a typical gift card, I had decided to give a gift basket of little tangible items that she may find helpful. In this post, I’ll share an easy gift basket made from items all purchased from WalMart.

Walking into Walmart, I had one thing in mind – and that was having a basket, and adding a couple things, I myself found helpful for the mom on-the-go.

Here’s what I found:

Above, are the items I purchased all at Walmart. Links provided for a few of the items. But I eventually added a some protein bars. I thought it was nice to add a little more  treats for the mom on-the-go, and it also paired nicely with the mini water bottle. It also tied in well with the color scheme that I ended up going with.

Not Pictured:

Scent Charm & Scent Charm Plug In, (Spent: $5)
Now, obviously this doesn’t really say “mom on-the-go,” but I’m pretty sure a mother who lives with her husband and middle-school aged son, would definietly appreciate a fresh scent within the main living space of her home.

Note Books, (Spent: $2)
Ladies, we all can admit we do love “lists.” Jotting down grocery items, to little reminders to pick-up our kids at this certain time. Having a thin notebook or two lying around in your purse or in your car is always helpful.

Faded Glory Teal Women’s Baseball Cap, (Clearance Find $2)
Going to one place to another, mainly being in your car, for school drop offs, baseball practices, and spin class, having a easy going relaxed fit baseball cap helps defuse the sun away from her face, and also controls that messy “I had no time,” mom hair.

The Asobu Skinny 8oz. Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle “Skinny Mini Flask”, (Spent $7)
I’m a sucker for any insulated reusable water bottles. I’m a lover of S’well and Hydro Flask. Literally, I have more water reusable  water bottles than I do bras. I know. But it’s true. Stay hydrated while you are out of the house is key. This mini skinny 8oz water bottle is so tiny, it fits perfectly in your your purse. Hydrate. Or you know….Add water beverage as you please. I won’t judge. Live your best life!

Pioneer Woman “Clean & Dry” Dishwasher Magnet, $3

Now, this was my best find of the day while at Walmart! If you’ve been a ready for quite some time, I do love my some Pioneer Women. Her collection at Walmart is the perfect combo of farmhouse, and spring. Finding this Dishwasher magnet was a perfect addition to add to the gift basket. Something to add to your home, and definietly communicates what needs to be handled in the kitchen. I bought one for our kitchen, and my son loves it!!

Bringing it all together was second most fun part of this after going shopping for the items. I simply took some twine, and also some lightweight butcher paper (Also purchased at WalMart!) It’s all in the little details when presenting the gift basket.

I also added in a small succulent, and you guessed it, purchased at WalMart in the garden section for $2!  I styled the times with the tallest items in the back, bringing the smallest towards the front. Add in more personal items, such as a wooden letter charm with the gift receivers initial.

From one neighbor to another. She helps me when my husband is out of town, and knowing I leave to work early. She drops my boys off to school, and offers for drives back home. Love your neighbors. I was talking to another friend recently and they told me about GiftTree (https://www.gifttree.com/v3/sympathy/gift-baskets) It was a real time saver! Making a cost effective basket is lovely sometimes but when you lead a busy life, like we all do its great to have someone to deal with the details for you when getting gifts.

Low Budget Easter Buys

I’ve been really close-fisted about festive decor lately. As much as I want to walk into my local Hobby Lobby or HomeGoods, I just don’t want to fall into the trap of buying Spring decorative pieces that are over priced. Check out a few purchases I’ve made within the past month, from candies, Easter decor, and other Spring seasonal accessories.

Easter Decor – Spring Signage | Target

Target’s selection is fairly cute in with their Spring & Easter items. I’m guilty of purchasing this super cute Spring wooden sign, which cost me $3. I really held it down this year going to Target, and not purchasing every single Easter item in sight. I seriously deserve an award.

Easter Decor –  Little Accents & Sweet Treats | The99CentOnlyStore

Besides buying everything from Target for Easter basket items, I wanted to check out the 99CentStoreOnly. This place, always surprises me. After checking out my local 99CentStore, I spotted these adorable bunny figurines for how much……$0.99 girl! So I just bought 2. Just two. I had to hold myself back….

A few favorite things I also like purchasing from the 99CentStore are candies and treats. I was able to score some Ghirardelli Chocolate, Mini M&Ms, and also Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Mini Easter egg carton. All great and favorited chocolate brand named candies, the kids are familiar with, at affordable prices!!

After the 99CentStore, my budget saving booty wanted to check out what Walmart had in store for the Easter season. Boy was I blown away!!!!!!

Easter Decor – Festive Garland | WalMart

From decorative Easter eggs, chalk craft eggs, to Welcome signs, and so many other baking, and crafting items at affordable prices, I didn’t know where to begin. I went ahead and purchased the spring carrot garland, which was about $5, but it was something different that Target didn’t have. So of course, I snatched it – and is currently hanging on my fire mantle. I honest to god love this garland.

Paired with my carrot garland, I noticed I was missing some greenery on the top of my mantle, so I checked out Michael’s to see if there was anything I could purchase, that could balance out the carrot charm from Walmart.

Easter Decor – Faux Greenery | Michael’s Craft Store

Michael’s usually has a 40%-50% off their spring florals during this time, so purchasing a $14 faux green foliage garland at $8, is totally justifiable. Purchasing a green garland to accent my Walmart burlap carrot garland, pairs perfectly together, as it brings the spring feeling into my home, sitting right within my family living space.

What have been your favorite spots to shop for the Easter holiday? Any places worth checking out, that won’t break my wallet?!?!

Pioneer Woman Christmas Haul

Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?! I sure did! Hehe. I feel absolutely blessed to have a wonderful family that just totally gets me. For the past few years, my family both on both sides use Elfster. An online secret Santa Generator, that’s easy to use. This gift-giving tool helps organize office parties, family or friends events all online, there’s a mobile app too!

The main feature that I personally love about Elfster is the website’s feature to include a universal wishlist. Copy and paste the link of that special item you’ve been eying all year round! I like to start after Thanksgiving, just to start notifying the early bird holiday shoppers. This year, I was obsessing about the Pioneer Woman line at WalMart! A few months ago I wrote a post on a few items I purchased from the Pioneer Woman line at WalMart. If you’re interest on that, be sure to click the link below on my related posts!

Using Elfster has made it easier for friends and family to go gift shopping for you. This also gives them a chance to see your personality through the lists.  Obviously, they can’t if you just put gift cards. But that’s boring!! I truly posts items I’d love to purchase on my own, but just can’t get around to getting because I can’t just justify it enough. I also posts items I’m currently loving, and will see using for the long haul….Like kitchenware.

Which brings me full circle to the Pioneer Woman line at WalMart. Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman) has an amazing rustic cowgirl kitchenware line any inner rustic chic gal would love! I call myself a cowgirl at heart, as I honestly believe I was meant to be living on a farm in Texas, with a beautiful ranch style home decorated by Joanna Gains…..Ah. I’ve been watching way too much Fixer Upper.

Needless to say, I just love me some rustic style kitchenware in my home!! So….I put a few on my Elfster, and that’s what I was showered with!! Check out what my family got me! I love each and every piece oh so very very much!

The Pioneer Woman Adeline 10oz Sunday Cup (Set Of 4)

The Pioneer Woman Flea Market Stoneware Salt & Pepper Shaker

The Pioneer Woman Flea Market Oil/Vinegar with Tray Set

The Pioneer Woman Cowgirl Lace 16-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set (Green)

…I also have the Linen (Pearl White) set

I’m so grateful to have friends and family that totally get me!! If it wasn’t for Elfster over the years, I’d probably be getting Forever21 or HomeGoods Giftcards every year. But to be honest, I really love the fact that my loved ones listen to my Elster list! These are just a few items that cost no more than $20! Many of them range from $5-$15, so these are absolutely affordable! And never ever ever ever, in my right mind, take advantage and post something ridiculous like a West Elm furniture piece. So WalMart….You have my heart. And so do you Ree Drummond.

I hope you got what you wanted this year! Comment below! I’d love to hear what you received this Christmas!

Happy Holidays & a Happy New Year everyone!

The line, as a wide variety of kitchen accessories, from placemats, tablecloths, table runners, kitchen towels, to napkins. Honey, if you’re not falling in love with this line, sorry. We can never be friends.

The floral patterns are similar to prints I’ve seen at local boutiques, to World Market, and also a few in Anthropologie.

My first ‘Pioneer Woman’ visit to Walmart was back in late September, and I noticed Ree’s new Fall collection. I walked through the home kitchen aisles, as WalMart like’s the scatter the collection throughout the department. The was amazed with all the fall country patterns and colors. My first purchase was the Food Storage containers. I bought one Large rectangular container, one Large round, and a small round. I also purchased a set of ceramic measuring spoons!!

Ree’s designs are beyond comfort. The plastic container set is ideal for meals on-the-go, with secure lids, and built in vent tabs for reheating. Options with 3 different sizes, both rectangular and round pieces are way too adorable and functional!!

And I bought more…..

As the month went on, my visits to WalMart became quite frequent. Times I would get off work, before I pick-up the children from school, to while I wait from my boys at Karate. My longing for more Pioneer Woman, was like the itch of having a Pumpkin Spice Latte everyday the first week it’s back at Starbucks. During the times, I even visited my parents, I’d ask my mom if she needed to go to WalMart; and of course she did.

My next Pioneer Woman/WalMart haul was a small one, but still added to my collection. I purchased 6 $2.00 plastic placemats, and The Pioneer Woman Napkin set. Staying focused within Kitchen Home accessories, I didn’t do too much shopping during the visit.

Napkin Details:

The vintage inspired and vibrant color, spice up my breakfast nook, as I leave these napkins sitting on my new WalMart plastic placemats. The mix and match set of florals and geometrics, fill my kitchen with fun, and modern feels. The fabric napkins are new to us as family, as we come from paper disposal ones. Starting the season in Fall with fabric napkins, will hopefully start new habits, and savings without buying paper napkins! (Let’s be cute, and also save! I tell my kids!)

Stay tuned for more Pioneer Woman Hauls now until the Holidays! This obsession, seriously isn’t going to stop. I’m all in people!

Halloween Haul

Yah girl is back on YouTube! I guess it’s the Gemini in me, but after working long and hard on my blog, I need another artistic and creative medium in sharing my content. I love love being expressive, and very impulsive as when I feel the need to create I do it, then there.

Having two different sides of my personality and you will never be sure with what you’ll get, so I guess that’s why I have two social media platforms to express myself. As at times I can be sociable, and communicative ready for fun white hitting the record button, I can ALSO be very serious with my content and indecisive on where to share it.

So after an afternoon having a DOUBLE Dirty Chai, I then, I remembered my YouTube!! Seriously folks, I go through deep waves of creative projects where I concentrate so hard on particular platform, and can’t maintain the rest of the social media branches.

Here, I’d like to share through VIDEO my Halloween CLEARANCE HAUL:
