#ChicShowsUp

Make a meaningful difference in this world every day. And we can do so in small ways. A few weeks ago, Rachel Hollis from the The Chic Site posted her normal Facebook #RachTalk video on September 26th. She shared a feasible and powerful compassionate way we can help the refugees in Greece.  #ChicShowsUp is a 2 week clothing drive until Oct 3rd by The Chic Site to help support those who are in need in Greece.

RachTalk Episode 11! #RachTalk Asking for your help with a big Chic project!

I struggled to complete a blog post in documenting my #ChicShowsUp effect, and realized that I was simply trying to say too much and so instead I created a short video on my actions.

This was a really fun video to make! When I posted it, I immediately tweeted Rachel to share my video. Surprisingly, she tweeted back!!! I was not expecting that what so ever!!!

And can I add, not only did Rachel tweet me in thanks, but also shared the video on her Facebook Page?!?!?!?! (Squeals!!!) Yes! I was only making a video, because I wanted to make a positive impact and show how easy and simple it is to help donate and participate in a simple clothing drive. How cool! How cool!! How cool is Rachel?!?! Here I am, small town mom blogger/Youtuber, getting support from a really cool inspiring woman! This definitely made my day going into the weekend!!!!

Rachel from The Chic Site, is such an inspiration to me. Her, and many other creative online mom’s alike have inspired me to become open online, and to become a lot more encouraging, inspiring, and motivational. I hope I can share my story, and insight to other moms out there. I really believe that the online community is where it is, if you’re a stay-at-home mom, or working working mom, I hope you can identify with an online group or special village such as I did. Also, I’m kind’ve on YouTube now! It’s something I’m working on in complimentary to my blog! As I mentioned earlier, when blogging I sometimes struggle to complete a blog post, and realize that I was simply trying to say too much and so instead I create videos on my actions. Cool right? It’s really fun! A lot of work, and time, but really fun!! That’s the most important thing. If you’ve watch some of my videos, (especially the first ones) please be patient! I’m definitely new at this, and working with the equipment I have. I’m making it work, and improving as I go! Super excited for whats upcoming next!! I promise it’ll get better! I’m only looking up, and leveling up! Happy Friday ya’ll!!!

Spring Break Body: Featuring TheChicSite

With Spring break around the corner, pressures of having the bikini body are in the air. Target is already selling their summer swim suits, which by the way are totally adorable!) While currently working out with my personal trainer 3 times a week, and running everyday, my goals are coming closer, with losing weight, and dropping my body fat percentage! Just seeing my trainer already 4 times this month I’ve dropped 4 lbs and 10% body fat! That’s significantly faster than my first contract I had with him back in 2013!!

This time around my goals have become way more full-grown. Instead of searching for that bikini body, I’m in search of endurance, and strength in my knees and ankles to secure me from injury during my runs. Over the time of being a mom the past 7 in a half years, I’ve never really had goals to have a bikini body. The stretch marks from pregnancy have also numbed me from that goal. It was never really a priority, yet, I didn’t really have any big problem with it. Not until I saw Rachel from The Chic Site.

Here’s her Bikini Picture that she had posted on her FB Fan page just last week. I love how she exposed her mom body, with confidence, a huge smile, while projecting complete happiness and joy, being proud of her body. Check out what she said along with the photo…

TheChicSite“I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy… (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could. I wear a bikini because the only man who’s opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he’s never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all. They aren’t scars ladies, they’re stripes and you’ve earned them. Flaunt that body with pride!” #HollisHoliday

Rachel mentions in her blog she was considering cropping out her stomach in her Cancun vacation pic before posting it, but she’s never seen another mom on social media show off her stretch marks… I love it. All of it! Being a mother with stretch marks, with permanent “flab,” after carrying babies is something to be proud of!! Here’s a video she just posted just today on the reaction of her bikini pic:

I admire that she was a brave mom to flaunt her mommy tummy in a bikini. Its something that should be know more in the internet world. With mom bloggers, IG fitness freaks, and everything else in social media, its certainly a topic that should be applauded. I salute you Rachel!!

Are you a mommy with stretch marks and a flabby tummy, working hard to tone it? Let me know your journey, and how you were able to slim it down! Let’s support one another and hit the ground running showing awareness in how beautiful the mother body can be, and how hard it is to work it off!
