Exploring free to budget friendly activities within my city, are my trump card to every weekend. With crazy schedules, birthdays to attend to, and lifes changes, it’s always nice to slow it down with the family, and check out something local and budget friendly.
Luckily, I live right on the edge of Sacramento’s downtown area, where on the other side of the road, you see farm lands, and during the fall autumn season, pumpkin patches!! My neighborhood has a beloved favorite called Goblin Gardens. Hosted through a family owned farm called Bastiao Farms, this delightful pumpkin patch brings in everyone from the area.
With private picnic areas decorated to a t, and also old run down rusty trucks, pouring with hay and pumpkins. Every year schools come in with kindergarteners to enjoy an afternoon filled with exploring in the corn maze, climbing a hay pyramid, getting spooked in the haunted house, or enjoying a nice hay ride through the pumpkin patch.
As a kindergarten aid, this was one of my most favorite field trips of the year!
Entrance Fee is $8 for everyone over 2. There was so much to do! Weekends they offer face paining, corn mazes, train and hay rides. Of course everything has a fee but prices were reasonable. I recommend this local farm to everyone and cannot wait to return every fall. Located at the edge of Natomas, and just 5 minutes away from my house, visiting honestly brings out the inner kid in me. Having two boys, and being a kindergarten aid, the kid in me stays alive, and continues burning strong until the holiday season.
