Halloween Dime to Dollar Decorating

Share

Halloween decor can be overwhelming for some. Wait. Let me rephrase that, Holiday/Festive decorating can get super overwhelming. With all the terrific ideas you find on Pinterest, and all the wonderful items you see at Home Retailers, it’s so hard to stop yourself from an impulse by, and then not know how to style with it. Take it from me. I’ve been there. That’s why I’ve cut out HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby, and other decorative retailers out of my shopping go-to places.

When it comes to Halloween, and getting spooky style, start off with looking around your home and seeing where you can place certain things. WAIT. HOLD UP. Let’s back up e v e n fuuuuuurther than that. Let me hype a place where you can get all the Halloween accent decor items you need that costs no more than a dollar. The DollarTree.

You’ve heard me praise this store in probably every craft post, along with Thrift stores. It is my holy grail. My number one spot to check out when it comes down to little holiday festive occasions. Take your $5-$10, $20, if you’re a big spender. LMAO! Yes, you read it right! I’m a budget queen, so if you want to save money and decorate with Chic DIY style, continue reading.

The DollarTree/99Cent Store/Dollar General, is the Halloween headquarters. You’ll find everything form spiderwebs, to skeleton garlands (see below), to glitter skulls, spiders, rats and bats. All the creepy, crawler things you need to spook up the home.

My favorite item for Halloween, have been these skeletons, which come on a garland. I purchase them every year, because I just take them off the twine, and sprinkle them everywhere in the home. Now back to your home/living space in where you’d like to add some spooky style. It’s easy.

Take whatever inexpensive items you’ve purchase, and throw them in your everyday decor. That’s it. No special HGTV Special, or interior designer can break it down to that. I’ve added skull heads, skeletons and spider webs everywhere. It’s that simple.

Above it a corner ledge of where my staircase and front door entry meet. I usually just have a styledΒ vignette of a faux succulent branch, and candle sticks. Adding spiderwebs, and a fake pumpkin UP’d my Halloween game to 3000. Really though. That simple.Β  Don’t overthink it, that you’ll overdue it. There’s no such thing, during the Holidays. No limits, just have fun with it!
